Please join us in celebrating Continental Express, Inc.’s 40th anniversary! Shelby County natives, Russell and Rene Gottemoeller, founded Continental Express in 1984 with just a few employees and trucks, a strong work ethic and a vision for the future. The trucking and logistics company has steadily grown over the past 40 years under the leadership of Russell Gottemoeller, and is now a leading truckload carrier, ranking as the 13th largest refrigerated carrier in the United States.

Continental Express is headquartered on State Route 47 just outside of Sidney, and proudly employs over 800 operations, administrative, mechanic and truck driver employees. The company truly has a national footprint with terminal locations in: Columbus, Ohio; Indianapolis, Indiana; Fort Worth, Texas; Gaffney, South Carolina; Louisville, Kentucky; Danville, Virginia; Fishersville, Virginia; Chicago, Illinois; and a dedicated operation in Portland, Oregon.

In the past year, Continental was named a Best Fleet to Drive for in North America for the third consecutive year; unveiled its ‘Feeding Families’ wrapped truck, which celebrates trucking and farmers; introduced its first all-electric spotter truck into its fleet; opened its terminal location in Chicago, Illinois; and had its 21-year veteran driver, Dave Wolford, named the American Trucking Association Driver of the Year. Out of all of the milestones Continental has reached over the past 40 years, Continental is most proud that it has been able to continually serve its employees, customers, and the Sidney and Shelby County community.

Russell and Rene Gottemoeller, as well as Kiera Sullivan and Bradley Gottemoeller, would like to invite all Chamber members and guests to join us at this event as Continental celebrates the past 40 years and looks forward to the next generation of leadership and the next 40 years.
